Wolverhampton Wanderers have been put off by Rangers’ price tag for Nico Raskin.
The Belgian international, 24, has been the source of major interest this summer after a standout season last term.
Wolves were readying a bid for the influential midfielder after an exodus at the club over the summer.
But Rangers have since slapped a £25million price tag on one of their prized assets with the player a pivotal part of their plans for the new season.
Scouts from other Premier League clubs, understood to include Aston Villa and Brighton & Hove Albion have been sent to watch the player since his arrival from Standard Liege in 2022.
And chiefs from Fiorentina have also been to watch the talented midfielder in action for the Gers.
Earlier in the summer, Spanish club Real Betis were ready to launch a bid to sign the midfielder before interest cooled.
Head Turned
At the end of last season, Raskin insisted he was “going nowhere” but earlier this week boss Russell Martin revealed the player had been “unsettled” by reports linking him with a big money move away from Ibrox.
Martin claims the player has been contacted by a number of clubs during the off season, which led to the new boss dropping one of last season’s star performers.
He was left out of the starting for Rangers’ Champions League qualifier with Viktoria Plzen and their league outing against Dundee United at the weekend amid transfer talk.
But Martin insisted his reaction to being left out has been “fantastic” and the former Southampton chief stressed it would take a “mind-blowing” offer to tempt the Scottish club to sell one of their best players.
