Queens Park Rangers want to sign loanee Rhys Norrington-Davies, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.

The left-back has impressed boss Julien Stéphan since his arrival at Loftus Road during the summer.

Welsh international Norrington-Davies had fallen down the pecking order at the Blades under previous boss Ruben Selles and was desperate for regular game time.

He was given that opportunity in west London and has grabbed it with both hands, leaving United fans jealously watching his consistent levels of performance whilst the Blades struggle in a relegation battle.

Norrington-Davies’ will only have a year left to run on his deal in South Yorkshire come the end of the season and it is understood QPR bosses are confident they can get their man in the summer.

Additionally, the club are looking to offload struggling striker Žan Celar, with the 26-year-old, who has floundered during his loan in Germany, being offered to clubs in Turkey and showing a preference for a return to Eastern Europe.

Perfect Loan Move

Joining the Hoops permanently would see the 26-year-old end an eight-year stint at Bramall Lane.

Sources have shut down talks of a January swoop, with QPR preferring to wait until the end of the campaign to make their move.

Speaking about the player’s impact on the team, Stéphan said: “He’s a very dynamic player. He has started very well with us. He did some very good performances and then he had a little injury. We played Sheffield Wednesday and Oxford in four days and he was probably the best player on the pitch in the two games.”

“I think for us, it's very important to have some reliable players. And he's a reliable player, both offensively and defensively. And he has a very big strength in terms of ability to repeat the run.”

Norrington-Davies has enjoyed his time in the capital so far and said: “I commented when I first came down to the boys in terms of the fans and when I asked 'is it always like this when we win?' because the place was absolutely rocking. And they were like, 'yeah if we're winning it's always going off' and it’s been like that since I’ve got here.”
