Hull City will offer John Lundstram a deal at the club when his loan expires, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.
Our sources have been told the Tigers will offer the experienced midfielder a two-year deal at the club.
The former Sheffield United and Rangers player is currently on loan on Humberside from Turkish Süper Lig club Trabzonspor.
Lundstram’s deal in Turkey runs until 2027, but reports have surfaced that Lundstram is trying to get his deal at the club terminated.
He left their pre-season training camp when a chance to return to England with Hull was on the table.
At the time of signing for the club, Lundstrum said: “I’m happy to get back home with my family and be playing in the Championship again. It’s lit a fire in my belly and I’m excited to get going back in England.”
“The manager was familiar with me from last season and eager to get me in, which was massive to see how much he wanted me. Hopefully, I can repay him and bring the performances he hopes I can.”
In other Hull City transfer news, the Tigers are reportedly poised to go head-to-head with Lundstram’s former club Sheffield United in January for Albanian winger Arbër Hoxha.
Man of Experience
Lundstram came through the ranks at Everton, but never made an appearance for the Premier League outfit.
Instead, he made six separate loan moves to gain experience in first-team football and eventually moved to Oxford United in 2015.
The U’s earned promotion to League One during Lundstrum’s first season at the club and twice finished runners-up in the EFL Trophy.
In 2017, Lundstram moved to newly-promoted Championship club Sheffield United for a fee in the region of £700,000 and helped the Blades earn promotion to the Premier League.
After four seasons at the Blades, Lundstram moved to Scotland with Rangers and won a Scottish Cup, a Scottish League Cup and earned a Europa League runners-up medal during his three-season stint at Ibrox.
