Exclusive: Leicester City Launch Shock Move for Rangers’ Kieran Dowell
Leicester City are looking to sign Kieran Dowell, who is set to leave Rangers, ahead of Hull City. The midfielder has fallen out of favor at Ibrox and is eager to return to England. Dowell, a three-time promotion winner, has experience in the Championship and the Premier League, making him an attractive target. Hull City are under restrictions, giving Leicester the opportunity to secure the 28-year-old's signature.

Leicester City are ready to hijack Rangers’ Kieran Dowell from under Hull City’s noses this window, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.
The midfielder is expected to leave Ibrox after falling out of favour at the club in recent months.
It looked a certainty he would join Hull, but our sources have been told Leicester have entered the fray for the 28-year-old.
The Tigers are desperate to ensure they do not miss out on their man, but are under restrictions so their hand could be forced.
Dowell has six months left on his deal and is desperate to get back playing after his Rangers nightmare.
He is part of the club’s “bomb squad” of transfer listed players to raise cash to back boss Danny Rohl in the transfer market this season for their title bid.
It is understood the player is keen on a return to England after struggling to make things work north of the border since making the move in 2023.
Dowell featured early on in the campaign, but has not played since August when an injury derailed his season and is currently out of Rohl’s plans at the club having featured just twice in the league this term.
Rangers have also entered the market for Motherwell’s Elliot Watt following his recent SPFL Player of the Month win, with Celtic and Hearts monitoring the situation too, although Danny Rohl is understood to be the keenest to land the highly-rated midfielder.
Three-time Promotion Winner
The player came through the ranks at Everton, where he joined the academy aged seven, and has played in the Premier League.
He has well over 100 appearances in the Championship and understands the league after a number of loan moves.
Norwich City, Sheffield United, during their 2018/19 promotion campaign, Derby County and Wigan Athletic were all destinations during his time at Goodison Park before a permanent move to the Canaries in 2020.
His first permanent season at Carrow Road saw them win the Championship and he played 19 times as they were relegated back to the second tier.
Last season he was shipped out on loan to Birmingham City and scored five goals in 19 games as they won League One.
