Norwich City have added Finland international Benjamin Källman to their striker shortlist, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.
Star striker Josh Sargent is pushing for a move away from Carrow Road this month ahead of USA’s World Cup campaign this summer.
And although Canaries’ chiefs are loath to sell their talisman, with Toronto FC so far failing to meet their valuation with their bid for the player, it is understood they are preparing for a potential future without the 25-year-old hitman. Burnley are also reportedly interested in reignited their interest in the talismanic forward.
The £8million signing has bagged over 50 league goals since joining the club in 2021.
And although young gun Jovon Makama, 21, has proven he can take on the mantle as the club’s premier goal getter, notching 12 goals already this term, Norwich understandably want a new recruit if Sargent manages to force his move.
Finnish forward Kallman has netted ten goals in Bundesliga 2 so far this term for Hannover 96, in his debut season after penning a three-year deal in the summer.
He is third in the league’s scoring charts this season and has a number of potential suitors vying for his signature.
Our sources understand the 27-year-old feels he has unfinished business in the UK after his loan spell at Dundee United earlier in his career and would relish another opportunity on these shores.
Flying Finn
Kallman burst onto the scene with the Finland U19 side where he netted 12 times in 19 games, which coincided with him being a frequent goalscorer for Inter Turku in the top flight of Finnish football.
He has gone on to be capped 35 times for his country, scoring ten times.
His spell at Dundee, where he scored just once in 18 appearances, came when he was 21 and he is now a more rounded striker.
Before moving to Hannover he scored 33 goals in 101 league games for Polish outfit Cracovia.
