After being outdone by a late Harry Wilson goal against Fulham last weekend, Brighton, who are 13th in the table, are just two points behind Everton. The Toffees had a slight wobble in the lead-up to the festive period, but they produced a workmanlike display to see off Aston Villa 1-0 in their last outing.

In recent times, Brighton have struggled at home against Everton, but will this fixture follow the traditional script? Our comprehensive preview contains Brighton vs Everton betting odds to consider before kick-off.

Pre-Game Odds and Win Probability: Brighton Clear Favourites

Premier League betting sites never miss a beat. Let’s look at the recent tale of the tape between Brighton and Everton:

  1. Home: 5/6 (1.83) – 54.5%

  2. Draw: 11/4 (3.75) – 26.7%

  3. Away: 11/4 (3.75) – 26.7%

Head-to-Head Record

Premier League head-to-head records shouldn’t be overlooked when carrying out prep for a game. Past meetings between Brighton and Everton can often influence football betting strategies.

  1. 24/08/25: Everton 2-0 Brighton & Hove Albion

  2. 25/01/25: Brighton & Hove Albion 0-1 Everton

  3. 17/08/24: Everton 0-3 Brighton & Hove Albion

  4. 24/02/24: Brighton & Hove Albion 1-1 Everton

  5. 04/11/23: Everton 1-1 Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton & Hove Albion Current Form – DWDDL

While Fabian Hurzeler often gets a lot of plaudits for the way he sets up his side, Brighton have seen results peter off lately.

Although they looked comfortable at times in the first half against Fulham, they failed to take their chances and were made to pay the price.

Quick on the counter and able to absorb pressure, the Seagulls often present a challenge to many sides, and that was the case against Manchester City, where they picked up a point in a 1-1 draw at the Etihad earlier this month.

Hurzeler will be all too aware of his side’s recent record against Everton, but they can’t be too passive if they wish to get a positive result.

Key Players to Watch

  • Kaoru Mitoma: Diminutive, but with electric pace and an eye for goal, Kaoru Mitoma is a key cog in the Brighton wheel. Although he’s only netted twice this term, he will give Everton plenty to think about.
  • Danny Welbeck: A Premier League veteran with plenty of mileage clocked up, Danny Welbeck continues to defy expectations. Apart from his aerial ability, Welbeck doesn’t hesitate in getting his shots off, and eight league goals is a terrific return.
  • Lewis Dunk: In the past, he’s been linked with moves away from the South Coast, but Lewis Dunk reads the game extremely well, and he’s a no-nonsense defender, so Everton will need to be canny to wrong-foot him.

Brighton & Hove Albion Team News

Brighton’s treatment table is fairly light, but Adam Webster and Solly March (both knee) remain unavailable for action.

Everton Current Form – DWLDW

After a fabulous first half of the campaign, Everton have dipped slightly since the turn of the year. That said, the hard-fought 1-0 victory away to Aston Villa will have settled the camp.

David Moyes’ charges have struggled over the past few seasons, but they seem to be more compact, and they have given the Premier League’s traditional superpowers a run for their money.

The Toffees aren’t out of the running for a European spot, so a trip to Brighton is an important game in the context of their season.

Key Players to Watch

  • Thierno Barry: While there were some concerns over Thierno Barry earlier on in the campaign, he has answered his critics emphatically, netting three times in his past four league outings. Brighton will need to cut off the supply to him.
  • Idrissa Gueye: Although he was on international duty with Senegal at AFCON, Idrissa Gueye is a midfield powerhouse who breaks up the play well. There was the unsavoury dismissal against Manchester United earlier in the season, but he has chipped in with a couple of goals.
  • Jordan Pickford: Jordan Pickford is one of those keepers who can save you tons of points a season, and he’s got Everton out of plenty of sticky situations this term. He may be kept occupied this weekend.

Everton Team News

Everton were given a boost with the return of Idrissa Gueye and Iliman Ndiaye, who are back from AFCON, while Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is also in contention to return after resuming training. Jack Grealish (foot), however, is set for a spell on the sidelines.

Predicted Line-Ups

  1. Brighton & Hove Albion (4-3-3): Verbruggen; Kadioglu, van Hecke, Dunk, Boscagli, Ayari, Baleba, Groß, Gomez, Welbeck; Mitoma

  2. Everton (4-2-3-1): Pickford; Patterson, Tarkowski, O’Brien, Myolenko, Röhl, Garner, Gueye, McNeil, Armstrong; Barry

Suggested Bets

Premier League sportsbooks are packed with markets, and we’ve outlined some useful football betting tips to exploit.

  1. Under 2.5 Goals: Although Brighton have had the better of things against Everton recently, it’s not been a high-scoring encounter, with the Under 2.5 goals line met in four of the past five league clashes. This is worth tapping up. (9/10 with Bet442)

  2. Everton Double Chance: With just one defeat from their past six league clashes against Brighton, the double chance line for Everton could be profitable. (19/20 with Spreadex)

  3. Both Teams to Score (Yes): While this line hasn’t been met on the past three occasions, there have been plenty of meetings where the BTTS line has been fulfilled, so we think the trend could be bucked. (8/11 with Fitzdares)

Value Bets

  1. First Team to Score – Everton: Everton have taken the lead in the past two clashes, so this line certainly has merit. (6/4 with Midnite)

  2. Everton to Win to Nil: The Toffees have won the past two matches without conceding, so this is worth latching onto. (6/1 with William Hill)

  3. Anytime Goalscorer Thierno Barry: Barry has been in a good run of form, and he could well pop up with a goal during the contest. (16/5 with LeoVegas)

Pridiction: Everton to Win

Everton’s form may have wavered in the run-up to and a little bit over Christmas, but they are starting to turn things around under Moyes. The 1-0 win against Aston Villa was a nice confidence booster, and while Brighton will be eager to bounce back from their reverse against Fulham, they might come unstuck.

This could be a low-scoring, cagey contest, but one where Everton comes out on top.
