The Cherries welcome the Toon Army to their home patch for a Premier League clash that is set to be an exciting tie between two well-drilled outfits. Andoni Iraola’s side has started the league very well and will want to add to their nine points from four games so far, while Eddie Howe’s side has struggled to get into a winning rhythm but did claim their first league victory of the season last weekend at home to Wolves.

Andoni Iraola’s side have been excellent at the start of the campaign. After impressing in their only defeat to champions Liverpool at Anfield on the opening day, they went on to win the next three games in a row with victories over Wolverhampton Wanderers, Tottenham Hotspur, and Brighton and Hove Albion, respectively.

Key Players to watch

  • Antoine Semenyo
The Ghanaian is making a name for himself as one of the best wingers in the division. Semenyo has pace and power and has the ability to carry the ball well under pressure.
  • Alex Scott
The 22-year-old midfielder registered his first goal of the season with a left-foot strike from outside the box against Brighton last week and looks like a solid player in the middle of the park for Iraola’s squad.
  • Tyler Adams
The American midfielder is a hard-running player who is versatile and can play at full-back. Adams has featured in all four games for Bournemouth this season and is a key performer in the side.

Bournemouth Team News

Iraola’s side will be without Enes Unal and Lewis Cook, who have sustained knee injuries. Adam Smith will also miss the game with a hamstring strain, but Bafode Diakite should shake off a knock for the visit of Newcastle United.

Newcastle Current Form – DLDW

Eddie Howe’s side have struggled at the start of the campaign and only registered their first victory of the season in their last game with a one-nil triumph over Wolves. Their only loss of the season came at home to Liverpool, and that was sandwiched between two draws to Aston Villa and Leeds.

Nick Woltemade of Newcastle United celebrates scoring his team's first goal

Key Players to watch

  • Nick Woltemade
The new number nine announced himself in style with a towering header against Wolves last time out to register the first Premier League goal of his career. Woltemade is a target man who can link play well at the top of the pitch.
  • Sandro Tonali
The Italian international is the engine of Howe’s squad. Tonali breaks up play and can also create chances with his ball carrying and quality of pass.
  • Harvey Barnes
The 27-year-old has featured in all four games for United this season and is always a menace down the left wing with his trickery and delivery when cutting inside his marker.

Newcastle United Team News

Howe’s side is nearing full fitness and will only be without new signing Jacob Ramsey, who has an ankle strain. Another new recruit in Yoane Wissa, is a doubt and will be assessed ahead of the clash.

Predicted Line-Ups

  1. Bournemouth (4-3-3): Petrovic, Smith, Diakite, Senesi, Truffert, Adams, Brooks, Scott, Tavernier, Semenyo, Evanilson

  2. Newcastle (4-2-3-1): Pope, Trippier, Schar, Burn, Livramento, Guimaraes, Tonali, Joelinton, Murphy, Woltemade, Barnes

Value Bets

Understanding key betting rules can also help ensure clarity when navigating different markets and potential outcomes.

  1. Bournemouth to Win: The home side are the form team, and the visitors have stuttered at the start of the campaign. Iraola’s side is also tactically well-drilled. (8/5 with Betway)

  2. Antoine Semenyo Anytime Goal Scorer: The Ghanaian has exploded at the start of the season and is likely to register in front of the Cherries' home faithful. Forecast odds: 4/1. Odds available close to kick-off with Bet UK)

Prediction: Bournemouth and Both Teams to Score

It is really difficult to separate these two sides, but with the home side being the form team, it is likely that Bournemouth will make that count at the Vitality and claim all three points against Newcastle. Howe’s side has stuttered in their opening games and is coming up against a well-drilled Iraola side. Expect the Cherries to claim victory and both sides to score.
