West Ham vs Everton Preview: Odds, Tips and Prediction

West Ham is not a team lacking quality – they’re a team lacking consistency and control in decisive moments. When they get it right, they look comfortable in possession and dangerous in quick transitions, but look vulnerable and disjointed when they don’t. If they can replicate that balance of discipline and clinical edge, they should have enough to stay up

At home against title contenders Manchester City, West Ham accepted the challenge and used the underdog factor to boost their performance in front of their own. City dominated possession as usual and created countless opportunities. But the Hammers were resolute in defence and made the most of their slim chances to secure a valuable point after a tense matchup. 

Against Aston Villa, Nuno Espirito Santo’s team were second best and fell to defeat following an impressive performance against the Citizens. In the FA Cup quarterfinal, the London side hosted Leeds in a dramatic all-action contest that displayed both teams' attacking potential. After the match ended in a draw, the Whites won on penalties to eliminate the Hammers and secure a spot in the last four. 

Wolves arrived next, a fixture that Nuno was expected to win and did so in emphatic fashion. The Hammers played with confidence and were clinical when the chances arrived to secure a vital win. At Selhurst Park against Crystal Palace last time out, Nuno opted for a more cautious approach, and with the fight for survival still on, the Portuguese will be eager to collect maximum points here over Everton. 

Everton is a side trending upward, not downward. Despite the mixed results recently, their dream of qualifying for a European place is still a reality as David Moyes has played a major role in the Toffees not only filling fixtures but also competing across the league. While they have shown to frustrate opponents and welcome any challenge, they have become their own worst enemy defensively.

At home against Burnley, Everton controlled proceedings, forcing the Clarets to play at their pace and limiting them from creating any clear scoring chances. Two well-worked moves, combining swift link-up play and creativity in the final third, were finished with conviction to secure a much-needed win. The victory boosted their confidence ahead of their trip to the Emirates to face Arsenal.

Arriving in North London was a very different matchup, and even as the Gunners pinned them back for most of the match, they remained disciplined and well-organized. However, two late goals stunned them, handing Mikel Arteta and his team the win and three crucial points. Despite the loss, Everton bounced back against Chelsea by putting the Blues to the sword after a convincing victory. 

After leaving Stamford Bridge with an impressive win and confidence restored, Everton matched up against Brentford and again put in another solid display to earn a valuable point. In the Merseyside derby recently, a lapse late in added time proved costly as Liverpool stole the victory. Now with another massive three points on the line, Moyes will expect nothing less than maximum points against West Ham.
