What Is Live Power Blackjack?

Live Power Blackjack is part of Evolution Gaming's "Infinite" range. A live dealer deals a single hand on the table, and unlimited players bet on it, and unlike standard Infinite Blackjack, you make your own independent decisions. If you want to stand and another player wants to hit, the dealer draws the card, but it only counts for the players who requested it.

The game solves a specific problem: standard blackjack feels limited when you hold a monster hand. In Power Blackjack, if you have an 11 vs. the Dealer 5, you can Quadruple Down, so this suits players wanting to aggressively press their advantage when the odds swing in their favour.

Power Blackjack vs Other Evolution Blackjack Variants

Evolution offers several "Infinite" style games. Here is how Power Blackjack stacks up:
Power vs. Infinite Blackjack: Infinite uses a standard deck. Power removes 9s and 10s. Infinite offers the "Six Card Charlie" rule; Power does not. Infinite is lower variance.

Power vs. Free Bet Blackjack: In Free Bet, the casino pays for your doubles and splits on certain hands. In Power, you pay for the doubles/triples, but you have the freedom to do so on any two cards. Free Bet has a higher house edge.

Power vs. Lightning Blackjack: Lightning charges a 100% fee on every bet to fund multipliers. Power has no mandatory fee; you only pay extra if you choose to Triple/Quadruple down.

Rules & Game Flow (How a Round Works)

If you have played blackjack before, the flow will feel familiar, but the decision-making is different.

1. The Deck: The game uses 8 decks. All 9s and 10s are removed from every deck. Picture cards (J, Q, K) remain and count as 10, and Aces count as 1 or 11.
2. Betting: You place your main bet and any optional side bets.
3. The Deal: The dealer deals two cards to the "Player" position and two to the "Dealer".
4. Player Decision:
   ○    Hit: Take another card.
   ○    Stand: Stick with your total.
   ○    Split: If you have a pair, you can split them into two hands.

6. Resolution: If you beat the dealer, you are paid even money at 1:1, and if you get Blackjack, you are paid 3:2.
   Note: If the dealer busts with a total of 22, all remaining player bets result in a Push (money back) rather than a win, and this rule recoups the house edge lost by allowing Quadruple downs.

The mathematics of Power Blackjack are fascinating. The removal of 9s and 10s is bad for the player, but the ability to Quadruple Down is good.

   ●    Avoid Quadrupling against a Dealer 10 or Ace. The risk is too high.
2. The "Dealer 22" Rule:
   Remember the Push on Dealer 22. This happens often. Do not be frustrated; it is the price of admission for the power bets.
   3. Bankroll Management:
   Power Blackjack is a high-variance game. Because you are occasionally betting 4x your stake, a bad run can drain your balance fast.
   Tip: If your standard blackjack bet is £10, consider lowering your base bet to £2 or £5 in Power Blackjack to accommodate the Triple/Quadruple swings.
