Expert tip: I’m not one to chase bonus rounds, but I have to say this is the best part of the game. Make sure you know how the bonus game works and stick around if it triggers.

Pine of Plinko Slot Review

Slot Developer

Pine of Plinko is a Relax Gaming slot by Print Studios. Relax Gaming and the studios that fall under their umbrella are all UKGC-regulated, so they’re totally fair. A highlight of the Relax Gaming portfolio is - of course - the DreamDrop progressives.

Theme and Presentation

Let’s just say a lot is going on here. There’s a pine tree, that’s also a slot game grid, that’s also a plinko game. All of the symbols are etched into the wood of the pine tree, making for a very unique look and feel. There are no background animations, which is a good thing because they would be overwhelming.

Reels, Grid, and Winning System

While the grid looked different from any other games I’ve seen, it actually follows the same formation as most slots. There are five reels and three rows, with 10 fixed paylines. To win, you just need to get at least three of the same symbols on adjacent reels from left to right on a payline.

RTP and Volatility

The Pine of Plinko RTP is 96.48%, which is slightly above the UK average for slot games, although that doesn't mean you’ll definitely land a win. The volatility is rated 4 / 5, which is quite high and should make for exciting gameplay - that was definitely my experience.

Bet Range and Stake Flexibility

The minimum bet for Pine of Plinko is £0.20, which is roughly in line with most other slot games. The usual maximum pound slot limits in the UK are set at £5, but there’s no £5 option here, so you can only go up to £4.

Max Win Potential

The Pine of Plinko max win comes in at 10,000x your stake amount. While I didn’t get anywhere near this when I tested the game, I was impressed that it’s so high, as I’ve seen too many games recently that have a max win as low as 2,000x.

Bonus Structure

Here’s where things get interesting. Pine of Plinko comes with a special Plinko bonus round, where a ball drops down a stack of pins to award a payout of up to 1,000x. Plus, there’s a chance that you’ll trigger the DreamDrop progressive prize.

Graphics, Sound, and Overall Feel

I really liked how unique this game looks. From the gnome character to the intricately carved wooden icons, to the little pine tree house, everything is on theme. The soundtrack has a dreamy, fairytale-style quality to it, making for a calming experience.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Generous base game max win of 10,000x

  • Chance to win the progressive DreamDrop jackpot

  • A very unique special feature in the form of a Plinko game

Cons

  • No Pine of Plinko free spins round

  • Difficult to trigger the bonus game

  • Max stake of £4, rather than £5

Game Symbols and Payouts

I bet you’ve never seen symbols like these! They all look like they’ve been etched into the wood of the pine tree, and while they fit the theme perfectly, they don’t look cheesy and garish like other slot symbols tend to.

Regular Symbols

All of the regular symbols are themed, and when I checked the paytable, I noticed that they even have names! The highest-paying symbol is the crafty gnome called Piney: five of them will nab you a payout of 200x. Other high-value symbols include his pals Santa, Sleepy, and Miney. The colourful gem symbols pay out smaller wins. The game has a really coherent feel, as all of the symbols are made to fit the theme - no generic A, K, Q, and J symbols here!

Special Symbols and Feature Symbols

Pine of Plinko doesn’t have any wilds or multiplier symbols, so the only special icon to look out for is the scatter. It looks like a hybrid of an acorn and a Plinko ball and believe me, you can’t miss it when it lands on the reels. Get at least three of these to enter the special plinko bonus game.

Pine of Plinko Demo Version and Free Play

I found the Pine of Plinko demo at a few sites like Unibet and I can safely say trying it really helped me understand how the bonus round works. I couldn’t really see the point of the plinko game, but after triggering it in Pine of Plinko free play mode (with 33 drops), I could see what all the hype was about. Just remember, here in the UK, you need to sign up and go through the verification process (to prove you’re over 18) before you can play the game demo, unless you’re playing on the provider’s website.

Pine of Plinko Bonus Features and Key Mechanics

A progressive jackpot and a totally unique bonus game? Count me in.

Plinko bonus game

90 spins. Ninety. That’s how long it took me to trigger the plinko round. But oh boy, was it worth it.
If you’re not sure how plinko works, just take a look at the screenshot I’ve included. You’ll drop a ball (or in my case, 33 balls) from the top of a pyramid and watch it make its way down, bouncing off pins on the way. Eventually, the ball lands at the bottom, giving you a multiplier. This certainly paid off for me, as I ended up winning £476 on a £4 spin (in demo mode, unfortunately).

DreamDrop

You can trigger the DreamDrop progressive during the special Plinko Jackpot bonus. During this game, you’ll get an unlimited number of drops. Each ball will land and fill up the meter of one of the five jackpot prizes and you’ll be awarded whichever one fills up first. Keep in mind that not all online casinos offer the DreamDrop version of the game.

Mobile Play Experience

Whether you’re using your online casino’s downloadable app or mobile site, it’s safe to say Pine of Plinko worlds perfectly on mobile. I took it for a spin on my iPhone using Safari and the first thing I noticed was just how huge the game grid is. It takes up the vast majority of the screen, so it’s very easy to see the symbols as they land. The large button below the grid makes spinning easy and I also liked the way paytable covers the whole screen, so it’s easy to see. The gameplay was extremely smooth during my testing session and I didn’t encounter any lags or glitches.

Expert Playing Tips for Pine of Plinko

  • Understand the plinko game: This isn’t Tipping Point; it doesn't matter when you drop the ball. Everything uses Random Number Generators, so don’t get too hung up on trying to drop the balls at the right moment to get the biggest payout.
  • Keep your stakes small: With big winning potential in the bonus round, you might be tempted to increase your bets a little. But if my experience is anything to go by, you might not get a decent win for a while, so you run the risk of simply eroding your bankroll really quickly. Don’t forget to always play responsibly.
  • The bonus round is your friend: I’d never recommend playing for more than you can afford to spend, but if your bankroll allows, I’d recommend at least trying to get into the bonus round. I would have been severely down during my testing session if I hadn’t triggered the Plinko game.

Pine of Plinko Alternatives for UK Players

  • Crazy Pachinko Live: Visit the live casino and play this unique plinko variation alongside a real host and other players. It comes with a qualification phase where you’ll collect scatters, followed by the pachinko round with multipliers of up to 200x.
  • Fly Cat$ DreamDrop: If you can’t resist the pull of those big progressive jackpots, Relax Gaming has lots more for you to try. This one stars a cast of crazy felines and features like mystery respins and sticky wilds, so it’s a more traditional slot game.

SportsBoom Suggests – Is Pine of Plinko Worth Playing?

I’ve come across games with a lot of different special features: free spins rounds with increasing multipliers, respins, nudging wilds, and jackpot wheels. But never have I seen a bonus round in the form of a Plinko game! This is - without a doubt - the best Pine of Plinko slot feature, as it’s just so unique. Plus, there’s great winning potential. Aside from the fact that wins in the base game don’t come around too often, I don’t really have any criticisms of this game, which is rare for me. Still not convinced? Give the Pine of Plinko demo a try to see what all the fuss is about.

FAQs

What is Pine of Plinko RTP and volatility?

The Pine of Plinko volatility is 4 / 5, which is quite high. This means that wins don’t come around too often, but they tend to be relatively big. The RTP is 96.48%, which is above average and especially high for a progressive jackpot.

What is the max win?

Outside of the DreamDrop progressive jackpot, the max win on this game is 10,000x your stake amount. If you manage to bag the progressive, you could be walking away with a payout of several million pounds.

How do the bonus features work?

Land three or more of the special scatter symbols, and you’ll get into the bonus round, which takes the form of a Plinko game. Watch the balls roll down a pyramid of pins to award you wins of up to 1,000x.

What bet range does Pine of Plinko support?

The Pine of Plinko UK limits range from £0.20 to £4 per go. The minimum stake amount on this game is in line with or a little higher than other slots, but it’s worth it if you get into the bonus round or bag a jackpot.

Is Pine of Plinko good for low-stakes players?

Pine of Plinko isn’t the best game for low-stakes players, as the minimum bet amount is set at £0.20 per spin - £0.10 or £0.05 is preferable. As the volatility is high, you’re likely to go a while before you land a win, which can be dangerous for your bankroll.
