Cristhian Mosquera, seen as the "future tower" in Arsenal's defensive line but struggling to find game time in a star-studded squad, has become one of the most popular names in the loan market for the Summer 2026 transfer window.

The Spanish centre back, born in 2004, has attracted clubs from across Europe with his physical superiority and composed style of play.

As the Arsenal management searches for the "right destination" for the young talent's development, the Mosquera file has become one of the most heavily discussed topics in the Emirates corridors.

Having joined the Arsenal squad as one of the most talented defenders produced by Spanish football in recent times, Mosquera has completed the process of adapting to the intensity of the Premier League and Mikel Arteta's high tactical discipline. However, the flawless form of the William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhães duo has restricted Mosquera's minutes.

"Development-Oriented Departure, Not a Sale"

The Arsenal management has established its strategy regarding Mosquera on a very clear foundation.

Manager Arteta views Mosquera as the "natural heir" for the post-Gabriel era. For this reason, it is stated that Arsenal's intention to sell the player permanently is close to zero. The club looks favorably upon sending the player on a one-year loan to an elite structure.

If a club insists on acquiring the player's permanent card instead of a "loan," it is rumoured that Arsenal would open the door in the €45-50 million bracket. However, the primary goal is a strategic loan to increase his value to the €60M level.

Following this departure, Arsenal plans to reinforce the defensive rotation with a more experienced name who will accept a back-up role, allowing Mosquera to close his "experience gap" elsewhere.

Arsenal are also expected to be open to offers in the region of £30m for Gabriel Jesus, with AC Milan and Juventus both showing interest in a potential summer move for the Brazilian forward, as he emerges as another high-profile name who could leave the Emirates.

Interested Clubs: Loan Demands from Across Europe

There are very serious contenders in the race to loan the Spanish star.

Everton leads the clubs wanting him to stay in England to adapt to the "Island's physicality."

Bournemouth views Mosquera as a perfect fit for a technically-oriented defensive setup.

Italian clubs Atalanta & Napoli have stepped in to increase Mosquera's tactical awareness. Specifically, Atalanta wants to develop him within their renowned back-three system.

Portuguese giants Benfica want to offer him Champions League experience. Monaco and Marseille are also closely following the player based on "guaranteed minutes."

Contract Status and Financial Details

Mosquera’s current contract with Arsenal continues until June 30, 2030. This allows Arsenal to hold all the strings regarding loan terms.

It is stipulated that the player's entire salary must be covered by the loaning club. His current salary is considered "reasonable" for mid-to-top tier clubs in Europe.
