Burton Albion hotshot Tyrese Shade could light up former club Leicester City next season, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.
Birmingham born Shade’s goals and performances went a long way to preserving the Brewers’ League One status last season.
But even manager Gary Bowyer is touting his talented front man for bigger and better things next term.
Burton turned down a £1million bid from an unnamed Championship club during the January transfer window.
And his value has only increased since then after 14 goals in all competitions, including a double over promotion chasing Stockport and an FA Cup hat-trick.
Bowyer admits he doesn’t expect to be managing Shade for 2026/2027 and tips him for a second-tier home.
However, the 25-year-old was on the books of Leicester City after starting his career with Solihull Moors and spent five years at the King Power Stadium.
And while the Foxes will be in the same division as Burton next season, a move to the former Premier League and FA Cup winners would still be a major step-up.
Foxes' Reshuffle
Leicester are desperate to get back to the Championship at the first attempt and will undergo a major re-build during the summer.
Midfielder Jordan James was the only player to reach double figures for goals during City’s relegation campaign.
Shade, who plays internationally for St Kitts and Nevis, moved to Burton from non-league Eastleigh but has also plied his trade at Walsall and Swindon Town.
Home town club Birmingham have also been monitoring Shade’s form. They were light on goals for a side shooting for the play-offs and will be refreshing during the close season to make a concerted push for the Premier League.
Primarily a winger, Shade operated as a centre forward for Burton and that versatility will help seal a move away from the Pirelli Stadium.
