Leicester City have been in contact with Darren Ferguson over their soon-to-be vacant manager role, SportsBoom can reveal.

The Foxes will be back in League One for the first time since 2009 next season, just a decade on from their famous Premier League triumph.

And with Leicester desperate to return to the second flight at the first time of asking, boardroom bosses are interested to have him take over.

Ferguson has been out of work since October after he was sacked by Posh, ending his third spell as manager of the club, who were bottom with just ten points from their first 13 games.

As well as Peterborough, Ferguson has also managed at Preston North End and Doncaster Rovers, who he led to League Two promotion.
