Fitting the definition of a "complete midfielder" in modern football to perfection, Christ Inao Oulaï has drawn Premier League giants to Trabzon following a dream season in the Trabzonspor colours.

Having joined from Bastia last summer for a fee of just €5.5 million, the 20-year-old Ivorian star is poised to shatter all standing sales records in the history of the Claret-and-Blues with his sheer dominance on the pitch.

Performance Under Observation

Premier League representatives, wishing to verify Oulaï’s potential on-site, have placed the player under the microscope during recent high-stakes fixtures.

It has been confirmed that scouts from AFC Bournemouth, and Brighton & Hove Albion, all looking to rejuvenate their midfield, were in the stands for Trabzonspor’s recent matches against Başakşehir (Cup), Fenerbahçe, and the away fixture against Kayserispor.

Furthermore, it is known that Chelsea and Tottenham have opened "high-priority" files on the player, dispatching representatives to every match.

Standing at 1.73m, Oulaï draws attention with his "endless engine" and a success rate exceeding 60% in duels.

Having produced a goal contribution of 2 goals and 4 assists in 19 Süper Lig appearances this season, the youngster has proven he is not merely a "destroyer" but also a "regista" capable of shifting the play with a single pass.

In scouting reports, his "ball retention under pressure" and "athletic recovery speed" were the attributes that received the highest marks.

Trabzonspor Chasing a "Record"

Statements from the Trabzonspor management and at the presidential level indicate that Oulaï is not just a player, but a major financial project for the club.

The club will only sanction a sale for a fee that would go down in Turkish football history. Oulaï is under a long-term contract until June 30, 2030. The club president previously stated in no uncertain terms that offers below €40 million would "not even be negotiated."

While alternative names are already being scouted for a player central to the manager’s tactical system, the club aims to keep him for at least one more European run to push his valuation into the €50 million bracket.

Trabzonspor could also face a battle to keep Felipe Augusto this summer, with Crystal Palace understood to be in talks over a potential move for the forward.

Valuation and Bid Preparations

Trabzonspor is expected to open negotiations in the €45–€50 million range.

Reports suggest Chelsea has tested the waters with a package around €40 million, while Bournemouth and Brighton remain in the "monitoring" phase at the €30–€35 million level.

While no official signatures have been penned yet, rumours of preliminary talks held in London with the player’s representative have mobilised the transfer market.
