What Is Ultimate Roulette?

Ultimate Roulette is a live, real-time betting game played with a European single-zero wheel that generates random multipliers for players' straight-up bets. I've played Ultimate Roulette several times at UK-licensed casinos, and, to be honest, I found the gameplay somewhat different from that of traditional roulette. 

In Ultimate Roulette, when the dealer spins the wheel, 1 to 5 straight-up numbers are chosen randomly to receive a multiplier payout (50x - 1000x). The reveal of the selected numbers has a great "suspense-building" element; however, the only problem with this game is that the straight-up payouts have been reduced from 35:1 (the traditional number on a European 0 wheel) to 28:1.

There is no market-style odds movement or bonus rounds, and there’s no Ultimate Roulette jackpot or a bonus pocket that replaces a particular number. The entire game is based on a multiplier format where everything happens on a single spin; I like this because I can see and control everything.

RTP, House Edge & Volatility

The Ultimate Roulette RTP is 97.30% without any extra multipliers. Once these are purchased, your effective RTP could be about 94%, depending on the number of multipliers.

It will feel very different to play in a live session, as volatility will be noticeably higher than in European roulette. You can often expect to have long stretches of losing small amounts of money, followed by large, punchy wins when a multiplier hits. If you compare American and European roulette, it feels more like a feature game than sitting at a normal table. Create a bankroll and stick to it. Accept that you will experience a lot of swings while gambling.

How the Bonus Bet & Bonus Round Work

Ultimate Roulette does not have a separate or standalone bonus bet or bonus round, but rather incorporates the bonus feature directly into the main game and is considerably easier to play once I have played enough rounds. 

You must place straight-up bets in order to qualify for the bonus feature of this casino game. After the betting period ends, multiplier numbers will be randomly assigned, and an option is given to you to purchase 3 additional multiplier slots for a cost of 10% of your straight-up stake per slot; therefore, if you buy all 3 slots, your total cost will be 30%.

If your number hits with a multiplier, your payout is:

Stake × 28 × multiplier value.
No compensation for a multiplier if it is on an unbacked number – no safety net and no side payout. Very different from some bonus bet roulette games. The max payout is 2,000x your stake; however, this is unlikely to happen, so you will need to adjust your expectations accordingly.

There is no guaranteed roulette strategy. If anyone claims otherwise, then they probably don't understand the odds/statistics behind roulette.

Volatility management is achievable. Personally, I prefer to cover a small area of the board (ie, 1-12) rather than half of the board at a time. Be more patient when purchasing multiple chips and make fewer frequent purchases.
