Having proven himself as one of the most "dangerous" wingers in the English Championship through his stellar assist record with Stoke City, Welsh star Sorba Thomas has become a primary headline for the Summer 2026 transfer window.

The 27-year-old’s ability to "shift gears," particularly in the second half of the season, has resonated not only within the British Isles but also across Europe’s elite leagues. Shining in a season where Stoke City struggled in mid-table, Thomas is about to enter the most significant "transfer window" of his career.

The Assist Machine Hits the "Transfer Radar"

Recording 10 goals and 13 assists in 46 matches for Stoke City during the 2025-2026 season, Sorba Thomas reached the "double-double" milestone, becoming one of the Championship's most productive attacking forces.

Combining the pace, technique, and set-piece mastery expected of a modern winger with physical strength, the 27-year-old Welshman also boosted his profile during World Cup qualifiers with the national team. As of April 2026, reports suggest that the Sorba Thomas chapter at Stoke City is nearing its final whistle.

Interested Clubs: A Wide Spectrum from England to Italy

The shortlist for Sorba Thomas is extensive, and the competition is at an elite level.

Having secured promotion to the Premier League, Coventry stands as the most serious suitor. Aiming to build a squad capable of staying in the top flight, they view Thomas as a "ready and experienced" asset.

Mid-table Premier League sides Fulham and Sunderland are closely monitoring the situation. Rumours suggest Fulham views Thomas as a perfect replacement for Wales compatriot Harry Wilson who is expected to depart in the summer.

Serie A (Bologna & Torino): Interest from Italy is quite concrete. Due to his tactical intelligence and physical endurance, Thomas is listed in the "A Plus" category in the scouting reports of Bologna and Torino.

Stoke City’s Stance and Valuation

While the Stoke City hierarchy is delighted with his performance, they are well aware of the financial realities.

Thomas is under contract with Stoke until June 30, 2028. This long-term deal significantly strengthens the club's hand at the negotiating table.

Stoke City is expected to open negotiations in the €20 million to €25 million bracket. The club’s desire to see a return on last summer's investments will make the bargaining process intense.

Stoke is planning a broader rejuvenation project for next season. The revenue generated from a potential Thomas sale could serve as the primary fuel for the club's new transfer targets.
