Hailed as "one of the best right-backs of the season" due to his dominant performances in an Arsenal shirt in the Premier League, Jurriën Timber has emerged as a marquee target in Real Madrid’s defensive rejuvenation project.

It is claimed that the Spanish giants have identified Timber as one of the "ideal heirs" for the post-Daniel Carvajal era.

Madrid’s Strategic Move

The Real Madrid board aims to lower the average age of the backline and add an alternative "elite profile" alongside Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Although no official bid has been tabled yet, reports suggest that Real Madrid scouts have been man-marking Timber from the stands in every match for the past two months.

The player’s versatility in both centre back and full-back positions fits perfectly into Madrid’s tactical blueprints.

To manage the physical workload of Carvajal, and to eventually entrust the right flank to him, Timber ranks as one of the top three names on the shortlist.

Arsenal "Parks the Bus" on Negotiations

The Arsenal hierarchy and manager Mikel Arteta view Timber as one of the "untouchable" pieces of the squad.

Arsenal has absolutely no intention of parting ways with Timber. As the player who best executes the "inverted full-back" role in Arteta’s modern philosophy, Timber is at the heart of the club’s five-year project.

According to internal club sources, Arsenal is preparing to fend off Real Madrid’s interest by offering the player a new deal featuring a "record" salary hike.

Arsenal are also expected to cash in on Timber’s right-back deputy Ben White this summer, with the defender linked with a move to Newcastle United, which could further complicate matters for Real Madrid’s pursuit.

Valuation and Financial Details

Arsenal plans to open talks in the €85–€100 million bracket for the player they signed for approximately €40 million in 2023. The scarcity of world-class full-backs in the transfer market and the player’s contract running until 2028 give the London side the upper hand.

Currently on the mid-tier of Arsenal’s wage bill, it is anticipated that the 24-year-old would rise to the £180,000 – £220,000 per week bracket in the event of a move to the Bernabéu or a new Arsenal agreement.

Official Status vs. Rumours

There is no "transfer list" issued by Arsenal, nor has an "official bid" been received from Madrid. Timber remains fully focused on Arsenal’s title charge.

Sources claim that Florentino Perez has allocated a "war chest" specifically for this transfer and will test the waters at the start of the summer window.
