When it comes to "scouting" in the football world, FC Porto is always the first destination that comes to mind, and they seem to have hit the jackpot once again with Polish young talent Oskar Pietuszewski, who joined the squad in January.

Despite being only 17 years old, the winger, transferred from Jagiellonia Białystok, has already gathered Europe’s elite clubs around the "transfer board" with his performance in his first few months in Portugal.

As the summer transfer window approaches, Pietuszewski is the most talked-after name under the skies of the Estadio do Dragão.

First Impressions: A Stormy Start

Since setting foot at the Dragão in January, Pietuszewski has dazzled the coaching staff not only with his statistical contribution but also with his immense self-confidence on the pitch.

While the club's initial planning involved an "adaptation period with the B team," the young star’s raw pace and dribbling ability made him an immediate rotational piece for the first team.

His runs behind the defense and top-tier speed are reportedly marked in bold in the reports of Premier League and Bundesliga scouts.

The Club’s Stance: "Not For Sale"

According to leaked information from the FC Porto hierarchy, the club is currently not open to offloading the player.

Although Porto’s financial model often necessitates player sales, the management believes Pietuszewski is still in the "maturation" phase and his value will skyrocket over the next 1-2 years.

The club president and transfer committee view him as the team’s new "showcase player."

However, the reality of Portuguese football, the "release clause", could change everything.

The €60 million release clause in his contract is Porto’s strongest trump card. The club has reportedly decided not to even sit at the negotiating table for any offer below this figure.

Bundesliga Radar: The Dortmund and Bayern Race

One of the most persistent rumours in the transfer corridors is that Germany’s talent hunters, Borussia Dortmund, have entered the race.

Dortmund has identified the Polish winger as the next target for their famous "buy-low, sell-high" strategy, previously applied to names like Jadon Sancho, Jude Bellingham, and Ousmane Dembele.

The Bundesliga outfit reportedly describes Pietuszewski’s pace and suitability for transition play as "flawless."

Rumours suggest Dortmund is preparing a comprehensive offer including bonuses and a long-term payment plan.

On the other hand, Bayern Munich is determined to stay in the race until the end, utilising their dominance in the Polish market and connections dating back to the Robert Lewandowski era.

Additionally, Porto could be bracing to lose yet another rising star, with Newcastle identifying winger William Gomes as a long-term successor to Anthony Gordon.

Premier League Giants in Wait

English giants are leading the charge in testing the waters for the summer window:

Arsenal see Pietuszewski as a perfect fit for Mikel Arteta’s young and dynamic squad structure. It is whispered that the London club could knock on Porto’s door with an initial bid of around €40 million.

Scouts from Manchester City and Chelsea are also closely monitoring the player during both his Porto matches and his duties with the Poland U21 national team.

City is allegedly considering a "buy and loan back to Porto for one season" formula.

Contract and Wage Expectations

Pietuszewski’s current contract runs until June 2029.

Reports suggest that once he turns 18, Porto plans to offer him an improved deal, potentially raising the release clause to the €80M-€100M range.

Currently, the player is satisfied with his earnings; his priority is maintaining regular game time to continue his development and becoming a permanent fixture in the Poland National Team.

Analytical Verdict: Will the Transfer Happen?

Given the current dynamics of the market, a departure this summer falls into the "low probability but high impact" category.

Porto usually prefers to polish their stars for 2-3 seasons before selling for astronomical fees. Having arrived only in January, a sale this summer feels "premature."

If Dortmund remains insistent or a Premier League club triggers the €60M clause, Porto will be left with no choice.
