Newcastle United are plotting a move for Conor Gallagher this summer, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.

Both the Magpies and Tottenham Hotspur are braced for busy transfer windows at the end of the season.

Eddie Howe’s side have been linked with a number of high-profile departures, whilst Spurs are set to be pillaged if they get relegated to the Championship.

With the likes of Anthony Gordon, Sandro Tonali, Bruno Guimaraes and Tino Livramento all set to depart St James’ Park, the Magpies’ hierarchy are busy looking for replacements.

Defender Kieran Trippier has also announced he will be leaving the club at the end of the season.

And our sources have been told the North East club are pushing to secure Gallagher’s signature.

The former Chelsea ace has been on Newcastle’s radar before and they are set to reignite their interest in the 26-year-old.

Gallagher only signed for Spurs for a reported £35million back in January and could be at a new club within six months if the North London outfit are relegated.

Aston Villa, who missed out on the player in January, are also keen on reviving their pursuit.

It is understood Spurs want to recoup the fee they paid for him in the winter and are resigned to losing him among a mass exodus if they go down.

Gallagher started his career at Chelsea and had a number of loans over the years at Charlton Athletic, Swansea City, West Bromich Albion and Crystal Palace.

He scored 10 times in 95 appearances for the Stamford Bridge club and broke into the first team after bagging Premier League goals during his loan at Palace.

Gallagher signed a five-year deal with Atletico Madrid in 2024, for a reported £34million, but returned to England 18 months later.
