Newcastle have turned their attentions to Burnley hotshot Jaidon Anthony as the search for Anthony Gordon's replacement intensifies, SportsBoom exclusively reveals.

Though the Hale End Academy product has three years left on his contract with the Clarets, sources say Newcastle are ready to go all out with a transfer largesse for the player touted to cost in the region of €30-35 million following what has been a sensational individual campaign.

Anthony has been a revelation in the Premier League this season, notching his eighth goal in the top flight in the 2-2 draw with Aston Villa last weekend.

That was just the latest of a string of fine performances which alerted several sides in the division earlier this year, though Burnley understandably wanted to keep him until the summer.

Everton, Fulham and Leeds United have all earlier made inquiries about signing the pacy forward but have been rebuffed with Burnley's high valuation of the player.

NEWCASTLE WILLING TO GO ALL OUT

It is understood Steve Nickson will favour proven Premier League quality as Eddie Howe and the club prepares for life without their star forward Gordon who continues to push towards an exit this summer.

And then with a number of the club's first-team attack-minded players primed for high-profile transfers, there have also been suggestions there can be somewhat of a clear-out at St James' Park.

Newcastle are interested in discussing and wrapping up any potential deal with Jaidon's camp sooner rather than later, as his parent club Burnley are aware of the interests on the player.

But much of that will also be determined by their own transfer activities, as they are well aware of the need to raise funds to avoid any PSR issues and financing future purchases.

JAIDON POISED FOR EMOTIONAL AUDITION

While Burnley will not retain their top flight status at the end of this campaign, Anthony and his teammates will get a chance to have a say at which side will win the title.

Burnley travel to the Emirates Stadium next time out to face Arsenal who are odds-on to win the Premier League, a club Anthony spent ten formative years before earning his breakout season at Bournemouth.

Anthony has missed out on just one game for Burnley in the Premier League this term, playing 35 games (8 goals, 4 assists) while displaying his goal scoring prowess against the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City, Brentford and Crystal Palace.
