Things are far from quiet at West Ham United, as they battle to stay in the Premier League.
Pablo, the 22-year-old forward who joined from Portuguese side Gil Vicente in January with high hopes and a package worth approximately €23 million, is poised to be one of the most talked-about names of the summer transfer window.
Championship Danger and Transfer Strategy
If West Ham heads toward the Championship, the sale of high-salaried players with significant market value will become inevitable.
As part of the "relegation plan" prepared for the club's financial sustainability, Pablo's name is on the list.
We are talking about a striker who, despite his young age, proved his worth with a performance of 10 goals in 13 matches in Portugal.
Should they be relegated, the London club will evaluate any offers in the €25-30 million range.
Although the West Ham management is trying not to rush for now, the figures on the table and the club’s league standing are weakening their hand. While he hasn’t fully exploded yet in Nuno Espírito Santo’s system, Pablo’s potential is whetting the appetite of English clubs.
One of the most serious contenders for Pablo is Brentford. Keith Andrews’ side has been closely monitoring the player since his Gil Vicente days.
They believe a second chance has now emerged for the young star they lost to West Ham in January.
The Brentford camp thinks Pablo would be beneficial with his physical strength and finishing inside the penalty area. There is no official bid yet, but "elbow contact" has been established with the player’s representatives behind the scenes.
Bournemouth and the Kroupi Equation
Another interesting angle of the transfer is Bournemouth.
Here, everything depends on the young star Eli Junior Kroupi.
If Bournemouth offloads Kroupi for an astronomical figure (rumoured numbers are in the €80-100 million range), they will enter the transfer race for Pablo.
Contract Details
Pablo’s contract with West Ham continues until June 2030.
Having a long-term contract shows that West Ham is not completely helpless at the table.
However, financial reports reveal that the club will suffer a serious loss of income if they drop out of the Premier League. This makes the sale of valuable players like Pablo mandatory to ensure cash flow.
Editor's Insight
Bournemouth’s interest in Pablo feels like a pretty typical Premier League gamble, backing the upside over the output, and if West Ham go down, it suddenly becomes a very easy deal to make for a player who hasn’t quite got going yet.
