Kieran Trippier wants to move abroad when he leaves Newcastle United this summer, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.

And our sources have been told there are a number of suitors targeting the former England defender, who will assess his options once the Premier League season ends.

Earlier this month, Trippier announced he would be leaving St James’ Park as a free agent this summer.

The right-back joined the Magpies from Atletico Madrid, for £12million, in June 2022 as the first signing after the club were taken over by a Saudi-led consortium.

Paris FC and Cesc Fábregas’ Como are two clubs chasing his signature, but it is expected Trippier will opt for a more high-profile destination with the likes of AS Monaco and Roma also keen.

It is understood MLS and Saudi suitors are also interested in luring the experienced defender abroad.

Big Role In Turning Tide

Newcastle were in the relegation places when Trippier joined the club and he has played a crucial role in the club’s resurgence under Eddie Howe.

“It’s emotional and I'm really going to miss it,” said Trippier.

“I want to say a massive thank you to the supporters for all the support through the good and the bad times for me personally. You've always supported me, always stood by me.”

“To my team-mates, it's going to be emotional. It's been an amazing journey with you guys. I'm going to miss you all, but to win a trophy with you guys was really, really special - the best of my career.”

The Magpies have already touted Arsenal right back Ben White as a potential replacement for next season.

La Liga Winner

Trippier came through the ranks at Manchester City and moved to Burnley in 2012 following a successful loan spell at Turf Moor.

He went on to make 185 appearances for the club and earned himself a £3.5million move to Tottenham Hotspur.

Following four years in north London, Trippier moved to Madrid for over £20million and won a La Liga title before returning to England with Newcastle.
