Liverpool vs Crystal Palace Preview: Odds, Tips and Prediction

Liverpool’s path to Champions League qualification is still alive, but it hinges on one key shift: they must become harder to play through. When they play with tempo and confidence, they look capable of beating most teams. However, the flaws are too consistent to ignore. Next was the return leg, and despite the energy of Anfield, Liverpool never truly looked capable of overturning the deficit and were dumped out of the Champions League. Last time out, the Reds returned to winning ways after defeating Everton in the Merseyside derby. Now, with all focus on securing a place in the top four, it’s maximum points against Palace or anything less will be considered a major setback. 

Crystal Palace has shown a clear resurgence in confidence and belief during the last few matches, which has seen them string together a strong run of positive results. Right now, they thrive in chaos – transitions, moments, and momentum swings. But to take the next step and sustain European success while pushing domestically, Oliver Glasner will need to find the right balance to remain competitive. 

In their Europa League second-leg tie against AEK Larnaca, Palace needed a strong display and showcased a chaotic but ultimately resilient performance at home. The Eagles showed far more urgency and directness, with Ismaila Sarr stepping up as the decisive figure, providing his team a safe passage into the semifinals. Mental resiliency and individual brilliance carried them through.

After a much-needed reset during the international break, Palace faced Fiorentina at Selhurst Park in their first game back. Direct, energetic, and clinical, Oliver Glasner’s team came away with an eye-catching victory at home, followed by another impressive victory over Newcastle. Despite the Magpies putting up a strong fight, Palace stood firm and secured a massive win.

Away in Italy to face Fiorentina in the return leg, despite losing on the night, Palace progressed 4-2 on aggregate after weathering sustained pressure. Recently, West Ham arrived with survival ambitions on their side and made the game anything but straightforward, pushing them to the limit, which also motivated them to head to Anfield with confidence and hope of a positive result.
