Chelsea Current Form – LWLLL
Chelsea are chasing Europa League qualification, which would be a consolation prize after being knocked out in the Champions League last 16 this season.
On their quest to secure a top-six position on the Premier League table, the Blues were hammered 0-3 by Manchester City to leave them utterly reeling.
Things were not rosy for the Londoners heading into the March international break, having entered this period on the heels of a 0-3 away defeat to Everton.
Emphasising Chelsea’s topsy-turvy form this season, they were beaten 0-1 by Newcastle United, having thumped fourth-placed Aston Villa 4-1 previously.
The Blues were also the recipient of a 1-2 loss at the hands of Arsenal at the beginning of March, with new manager Liam Rosenior still finding the formula.
Chelsea, having a game in hand, remain within striking distance of Liverpool and would be keen to bypass Man United and possibly secure a UCL spot yet again.

Key Players to Watch
- Joao Pedro: The Brazilian forward has been the hallmark for Chelsea this season, leading the way in terms of combined goal contributions. Pedro has made 28 starts in 32 appearances, scoring 14 times and providing five assists, dominating in the box with high pressing and looking for defensive gaps.
- Cole Palmer: With nine goals and one assist in 19 starts, the English midfielder has had a relatively quiet season. However, his quality on the attack and his playmaking abilities have made Palmer a standout for a reason, with the Blues riding the hope that he will bounce back.
- Moises Caicedo: Chelsea have relied heavily on the Ecuadorian midfielder, who has made 27 appearances and been in the starting team 26 out of those games. Caicedo has scored three goals and provided one assist, but has really shone in terms of interceptions, tackles, and balls recovered per game.
Chelsea News
Midfielder Enzo Fernandez is currently suspended over an internal disciplinary matter, with Jamie Gittens, Filip Jorgensen, and Reece James working to recover from respective injuries.
Manchester United Current Form – WLWDL
Manchester United are a fair distance behind their cross-town rivals, who are in second place, and Manchester City currently have one game in hand.
However, their recent run of results has not been convincing, with two losses in five games, including a 1-2 defeat against Leeds United on April 13.
Heading into the international break, Man United hit a minor roadblock with a 2-2 draw against Bournemouth, who are currently seated in 11th place.
In the weeks of the league before the pause, the Red Devils defeated fourth-placed Aston Villa 3-1 and also accounted for a struggling Newcastle 2-1.
March started strongly for Man United, defeating Crystal Palace 2-1 and keeping themselves comfortably within the UEFA Champions League places.
The Old Trafford team are currently nine points behind Man City and are unlikely to catch up, but could do enough to stay ahead of Villa and Liverpool.

Key Players to Watch
- Bryan Mbeumo: The Cameroonian forward has been in destructive form this season. While he has stepped off the pace in recent games, Mbuemo has been Man United’s chief attacker with nine goals and three assists, and his team would hope a recent spell on the sidelines has no lasting effects.
- Casemiro: With seven goals and two assists this season, the Brazilian midfielder has performed above and beyond expectations. As harsh as that may sound, Casemiro seems to have regained his initiative with the Red Devils and has also performed well in defensive duties, including tackles, touches, and ball recoveries.
- Bruno Fernandes: The Portuguese midfielder has been unarguably the standout player for Man United amid a return to top form, having contributed eight goals and an impressive 16 assists. As interim manager Michael Carrick aims to prolong his stay at Old Trafford, unleashing Fernandes could be his best bet.
Manchester United News
Defender Matthijs de Ligt is only expected back in May 2026 due to a back injury, with Benjamin Sesko and Bryan Mbeumo likely returning to the squad after respective layoffs.
