Evangelos Marinakis is set to buy Andrews Tetteh at Olympiacos with a view to bringing him to the Premier League, SportsBoom can exclusively reveal.
Marinakis owns both the Greek Super League club and Premier League Nottingham Forest.
Kifisia striker Tetteh has lit up the start of the new season by scoring four goals and providing four assists in the first eight games of the campaign.
The Ghanaian hitman has bagged an impressive 40 goals in 112 games during his time at Kifisia.
And that has led to Greek heavy hitters AEK Athens and Olympiacos fighting it out for his signature.
Our sources have been told both clubs are interested in securing the 24-year-old’s services.
Athens are set to shortly open talks with Kifisia, but Marinakis is eager to beat one of his fierce title rivals to the player to make it easier to bring him to Forest if he continues to impress.
It is a route Marinakis has used in the past with a number of players moving from one club to another in recent years.
Our sources understand AEK Athens believe they have the edge in the race for the in-form marksman as it will allow him to return to his hometown, where he began his career with PAO Rouf.
On The Rise
Tetteh helped fire Kifisia to the second tier title in 2022/23 and has continued to impress since making the jump to the top flight.
Previously rated as the Young Player of the Year in the second tier, Tetteh is a highly-sought-after commodity with bags of potential.
And with his best years ahead of him, the player is eager to eventually move away from Greece to test himself in one of Europe’s top five leagues.
